Household Organization Binder

This past Thursday at Enrichment we worked on making Family Organization Binders. Most of the forms we used were from this website and there is lots of great information to be found there that I will not repeat here.

Below is an example of what we did. We used the scripture D&C 88:119 as our scripture reference to make a cute cover insert for the binder. I'll be back later this week posting links to the forms I made and we have extra copies of the packet inthe relief society cupboard for anyone who needs one!

Long time no update....I know! Moving on!

This month for Painted Desert Enrichment we are putting together a Household Organization Binder totally inspired by Doctrine and Covenants 88:119

Organize yourselves; prepare every needful thing; and establish a house, even a house of prayer, a house of fasting, a house of faith, a house of learning, a house of glory, a house of order, a house of God;

Print these templates as a full page image and cut out to use as a fun treat.

To make the fun reminder fridge magnet below:

Print out the template as a full page.
Cut one 3 3/4 X 3 inch piece and two 3X3 inch pieces of patterned paper.
Cut out one "Visiting Teaching" card, one "Do it!" and one "Done!" card.
Use a glue stick to attach the visiting teaching card to the 3 3/4 X 3 inch piece of paper and laminate.
Glue the two 3X3 inch pieces of patterned paper together design out.
Use a glue stick to attach the "Do it!" and "Done!" cards to opposite sides of the 3X3 inch piece and laminate.
Punch a hole in the top of the double sided piece and one in the bottom of the visiting teaching piece.
Attach the two pieces with a thin ribbon.
Use an adhesive magnet on the back of the visiting teaching piece so that you can hang this handy reminder on the fridge.

The cards below are a handy way to leave your numbers with the women that you visit teach. Print out the templates below. Cut out and mount onto 3X4 inch piece of patterned paper. Write in your names and numbers in the space provided. Laminate and stick a magnet on the back.

Cake Mix Cookies
1 (18 1/4 ounce) package cake mix
1/3 cup oil
2 eggs

Heat oven to 375.
In large bowl, combine cake mix, oil and eggs; stir by hand until thoroughly moistened.
Shape dough into 1-inch balls.
Place 2 inches apart on un greased cookie sheets.
Flatten to 1/4 inch thickness with bottom of glass dipped in flour.
Bake at 375 for 6 to 8 minutes or until edges are light golden brown.
Cool 1 minute; remove from cookie sheets.

White Chocolate Popcorn

2 bags of microwave kettle corn. Pop and remove all unpopped kernels.
Put popcorn in large mixing bowl and prepare 2 large baking sheets by spraying with a non stick cooking spray.
Melt about a cup and a half of white chocolate chips in the microwave until smooth and pour over popcorn in bowl.
Stir gently to mix and coat. At this point I like to sprinkle over some crushed soft peppermint candies but you can really add anything. Nuts or m&m's would be great.
After popcorn is coated spread it out on the baking sheets to cool/harden and that's it. When it's cool break it up gently with a spatula and serve.
This is a super yummy recipe and you can add as much or as little chocolate as you like.
You can also leave it plain or use colored melting chocolate that you get at places like Michaels in the candy section if you want colored popcorn.

Rolo Pretzels
You take a pretzel (I like the square ones) on a baking sheet, put a rolo on it and pop into a 350 degree oven for 4-5 minutes. When they are a little melty and look glossy take them out and press an M&M into them. Let them cool and enjoy.

Use kisses or hugs.
Nuts on top.
Different flavored M&M on top.
Use a rolo and top with a salted pecan for a turtle treat.
Be creative and do whatever sounds good to you!
